Introducing.. The Ontario Plan!

The Ontario Plan is a long-term vision for the future of the City of Ontario. It was created by the community, for the community, and sets forth a bold vision for how we want our city to grow and evolve over the next 20 years.

The plan contains three main elements:

1) A land use vision that envisions a more sustainable, pedestrian-friendly city with a mix of housing, jobs, and retail uses.
2) An economic development strategy that focuses on creating good-paying jobs, supporting existing businesses, and attracting new businesses to Ontario.
3) A transportation plan that prioritizes walking, biking, and public transit over cars.

Sustainable Growth
The first element of the Ontario Plan is a land use vision that envisions a more sustainable, pedestrian-friendly city with a mix of housing, jobs, and retail uses. We want to create a city where people can live, work, and play without having to rely on their cars. To do this, we need to create more mixed-use neighborhoods where people can live close to where they work and do their shopping. We also need to create more open space and parks for people to enjoy. These changes will require a rethinking of how we use our land and build our structures, but we believe it is essential in order to build a more sustainable future for our city.

Economic Development Strategy
The second element of the plan is an economic development strategy that focuses on creating good-paying jobs, supporting existing businesses, and attracting new businesses to Ontario. Our goal is to create an environment where businesses can thrive and create good jobs for our residents. To accomplish this, we will focus on five key areas:
1) Developing an entrepreneurial ecosystem that supports new business startups
2) Attracting new businesses to Ontario
3) Supporting existing businesses
4) Promoting innovative industries such as clean energy and life sciences
5) Investing in our workforce so that our residents have the skills they need to succeed in today's economy.

Transportation Plan
The third element of the plan is a transportation plan that prioritizes the needs of pedestrians, bicyclists, and public transit users over those of drivers. We want to make it easier for people to get around without having to use their cars all the time. To do this, we need to invest in pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure as well as public transit. We also need to rethink our street design so that it works better for everyone – not just motorists. This will require a major investment from all levels of government as well as private developers, but we believe it is essential in order to build amore livable city for all of us.

We're excited to share the Ontario Plan with you and we hope you'll take the time to read it and provide your feedback . This is our vision for the future of Ontario – let's make it happen together!
